Meta & WhatsApp Platform Policies

This dedicated compliance document details the integration between TamilVelai ("TamilVelai", "we", "us") and Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta") via the Meta WhatsApp Business Cloud API. This policy is maintained to fulfill transparency requirements for Meta Developer App Reviews, Meta Business Suite verification, and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules of India.

1. Scope and Identity of Service

TamilVelai is an online recruitment marketplace connecting job seekers and hiring businesses located in the State of Tamil Nadu, India. To ensure reliable, prompt, and secure delivery of identity verification codes and interview alerts, TamilVelai integrates with Meta's official WhatsApp Business Cloud API infrastructure.

2. Purpose of Meta WhatsApp API Integration

Our integration with the Meta WhatsApp Business Cloud API is strictly limited to high-priority, transactional communications necessary to deliver core platform services:

• Authentication & Verification (OTP): Transmitting 6-digit numeric One-Time Passwords to verify candidate and employer phone numbers during registration, login, and password resets.
• Transactional Account Alerts: Informing candidates when an employer requests an interview or reviews their application.
• Direct Recruiter Messaging: Providing 1-click WhatsApp chat links so that authorized employers can schedule interviews directly with unlocked candidates.

3. Explicit User Consent and Opt-In Mechanism

• Affirmative Opt-In: Users provide explicit affirmative consent by submitting their valid mobile phone number on our registration and verification screens and clicking "Send Verification Code" or "Verify Account".
• No Pre-Checked Boxes: Consent is never implied or pre-selected.
• Immediate Delivery: Verification messages are triggered exclusively by direct user actions on the website.

4. Prohibition of Promotional Broadcasts & Spam

In accordance with the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy:

• We do NOT engage in bulk promotional marketing, commercial advertising, or spam campaigns via WhatsApp;
• We do NOT sell, lease, or distribute user phone numbers or messaging lists to third-party advertisers;
• All message templates utilized on WhatsApp are pre-submitted and approved by Meta under the "Authentication" or "Utility" categories.

5. Data Minimization & Storage Practices

• Data Shared with Meta: When an OTP or transactional notification is dispatched, TamilVelai transmits only the recipient's phone number and the generated authentication token through Meta's secure HTTPS API endpoints.
• Restricted Data: Confidential candidate resumes, passwords, government IDs, and payment card details are never transmitted to or stored on Meta's WhatsApp servers.
• Encryption in Transit: All communication between TamilVelai servers and Meta's Graph API is encrypted using TLS 1.3 cryptographic protocols.

6. User Opt-Out and Rights

Users retain complete control over their communication preferences:

• You can revoke permission to receive non-critical WhatsApp notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message received from our verified WhatsApp Business account;
• You can request permanent deletion of your phone number and account records by contacting our Data Protection Officer at mailtobilling@gmail.com.

7. Compliance with Meta Terms

TamilVelai agrees to comply with all applicable Meta policies, including the Meta Commercial Terms, Meta Developer Policies, and WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy. Any unauthorized use of the WhatsApp API for abusive, discriminatory, or unlawful activities is strictly prohibited.
